What Are Permanent Wire Retainers?
Permanent wire retainers (also known as fixed lingual retainers) are the preferred method for ensuring teeth do not move after orthodontic work. These retainers sit behind the teeth with tooth coloured glue to stop the teeth from moving out of alignment. Unlike removable wire retainers these stay in your mouth long term behind the teeth which don’t interrupt with the mouth or tongue.
